Issues
Every Candidate has issues they want to bring to the forefront. I am no different, but the issues I'm bringing are needed and attainable.
Safety for the Community and Support for Those Keeping Us Safe.
The Police and Fire Departments can always use more funding. With that in mind, I want to see our safety services get additional funding for the equipment and services our first responders need.
In addition to equipment, I want to see our Police Department hire on Counselors who are trained in handling domestic incidents and conflict resolution, they would be there to help support our officers in situations that may go outside of their training, as well as offering assistance for victims of fire or crimes.
For the first responders, I want to bring in additional assistance to help support their mental health. Making sure our first responders don't feel alone, abandoned, or forgotten.
Economy: Affordable Housing & Mentors Future
I want to make sure we have affordable housing for new young families moving to the great city of Mentor and also continue to provide affordable housing for Mentor's aging community.
To this end, Mentor City Council needs to put into place rules that prevent conglomerates from buying Mentors housing and raising the cost, forcing privately owned properties to do the same. Putting rules like this in place will keep Mentor affordable and accessible for all the families who want to build their futures in our beautiful city and call Mentor their home.
Community Service & Volunteerism
I would like to start a program that encourages community involvement and service to others.
I feel we need to bring back to idea of helping your neighbor simply for the sake of helping.
This program would offer organizations needing volunteers a platform they could use to reach out for help and provide service minded people an easier way to find a place they are needed.
This type of program would not only help those organizations, but the community at large.
